Cornbread Dressing
- 1 c. self-rising corn meal
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 slightly beaten eggs
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 3 slightly beaten eggs
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 5 to 6 c. chicken broth
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. oil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 stick melted butter
- 1 can celery soup
- pinch of sage
- Combine corn meal, flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar, if desired.
- Add milk and oil with eggs to dry mixture.
- Mix thoroughly and pour into heavily-greased baking pan.
- Bake at 425u0b0 until golden brown.
- Cool and crumble. Combine with remaining ingredients and bake at 300u0b0 for 1 hour.
