Balsamic Fig Sauce Recipe
- 1 lb Fresh figs, preferably Black Mission, minced
- 1/3 c. Red wine
- 1 Tbsp. Balsamic vinegar
- 1 pch Salt
- 1/8 tsp Freshly grnd pepper
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 sprg fresh thyme
- Combine all ingredients with 1/2 c. water in a saucepan.
- Cover; bring to boil over high heat.
- Reduce to a simmer; cook, partially covered, till fruit has broken down, about 20 to 30 min.
- Let cold slightly; remove thyme sprig.
- Press mix through a large-holed sieve with a rubber spatula.
