Whole Wheat Waffles
- 2 12 cups white whole wheat flour
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 34 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt substitute
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 13 cup canola oil
- 13 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 large egg
- 4 large egg whites
- 3 cups low-fat milk
- cooking spray
- Combine all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl and set aside.
- Combine all of the wet ingredients in a medium bowl.
- Pour the wet ingreidents into the dry ingredient bowl and whisk to combine.
- Cover the bowl and let the batter sit for 30 minutes.
- Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray close the cover and preheat.
- Laddle the batter into the waffle iron and bake, according to the waffle iron directions.
- Continue until all waffles have been baked.
- Recipe makes between 6-7 round waffles from my waffle iron.
