Cheese Tea Sandwiches
- 1/2 c. whipped cream cheese
- 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper (optional)
- 16 unpeeled cucumber slices (optional)
- 16 slices white sandwich bread
- Combine first 4 ingredients.
- Add red pepper, if desired.
- Set aside.
- With a 1 3/4-inch cookie cutter, cut 2 rounds out of each bread slice.
- Spread half of bread rounds with cheese filling.
- Top with cucumber slices if desired and remaining bread rounds.
- Place in shallow container and cover with plastic wrap.
- Top with a damp dish towel and refrigerate 8 hours.
- Yields 16 sandwiches. Sandwiches may be frozen, omitting cucumber.
- Thaw in refrigerator and add cucumber before serving.
- Flavored cream cheese may be substituted for the cheese filling.
