Blondie's Mom's Spritz Cookies
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
- 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract ( I use extra)
- 2 1/2 cup sifted all purpose flour
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 candies, jimmies (sprinkles), or colored sugar for decorating
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Cream butter and sugar together.
- Blend in flour, egg, salt, almond extract and vanilla extract.
- The dough will be stiff, so turn it out onto a counter or table and knead until soft.
- Chill for about 30 minutes.
- Press the dough into and through a cookie press onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Decorate however you would like.
- Bake for about 8 minutes.
- *You can also separate the dough into pieces and add food coloring a few drops at a time, until desired color is reached before putting into your cookie press.

- **This recipe makes about 60 to 72 cookies depending on the size of your cookie press.
