Crunchy Mint Biscotti for Dogs

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Mix flour, bran or germ, milk powder and mint in a large bowl.
  3. Add water and oil; stir to soft dough.
  4. Shape the dough into a log about 9-10 inches long.
  5. Roll the dough log in the extra bran/germ and transfer to an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Flatten to about 4-5 inches wide.
  7. Bake 30 min - log should be firm.
  8. Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes.
  9. Change oven temperature to 300F.
  10. Use a sharp knife to cut the log into 1/2-inch biscotti strips.
  11. Place the strips upright on the cookie sheet, spaced about a half inch.
  12. Bake for 30 minutes.
  13. Do not remove from oven.
  14. Turn oven off, but leave the cookies in the oven to become hard as they cool.
