Easier Than Pie Apple Dumplings
- 2 (8 ounce) cans crescent roll dough
- 4 granny smith apples, peeled, cored & quartered
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 12 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 12 ounces Mountain Dew soda, divided equally
- Spray two 9 x 13 baking dishes with non-stick spray.
- Preheat oven to 375-degrees.
- Roll one apple quarter in one dough triangle, pressing edges to seal, and place edge side down in pan.
- Place with spacing for three across the 9" (short side) of the pan.
- Mix the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon throughly and spoon over each of the dumplings, dividing evenly between the two pans.
- Pour the Mountain Dew over the dumplings.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, rotating pans after about half the time has passed, so that both are golden brown.
- Enjoy warm or cold with a little of the sauce spooned over them.
- Microwaves easily.
- For dessert, I add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
