Southern Corn Bread Dressing Recipe
- 4 c. bread crumbs
- Leftover biscuits or possibly loaf bread
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 4 c. corn bread
- 1 c. minced celery
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 3 c. chicken or possibly turkey broth
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- Toast bread for crumbs; crumble in a large bowl.
- Add in onion, celery and seasonings.
- Next, add in warm broth to make soft mix.
- Mix well.
- Add in butter and lowfat milk.
- This mix should be very soft to allow for loss of moisture during baking.
- Add in more broth, if necessary.
- Pour in greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour, or possibly till well browned.
