Take Along Turkey Pitas Recipe
- 3/4 c. plain yogurt
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1/2 c. minced cucumber, pared and seeded
- 1 tbsp. minced parsley
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dill weed; optional
- 3/4 pound boneless cooked turkey breasts, cut into 3/4 inch cubes
- 1 c. alfalfa sprouts
- 1 med. tomato, minced
- 6 whole wheat pita bread rounds, or possibly 3 lg. rounds, cut in half
- Combine yogurt, mayonnaise, cucumber, parsley, garlic salt, and dill weed.
- Gently stir in turkey, alfalfa sprouts, and tomato.
- Line each pita round with Romaine lettuce leaf.
- Spoon about 3/4 c. turkey mix into each.
- Serve immediately.
- Makes 6 servings.
