Almond Fruit Tart Recipe

  1. Our easy variation of a classic French fruit tart uses an almond-flavored pastry cream filling topped with strawberries, blueberries and grapes.
  2. Look for almond paste in the baking section of large supermarkets.
  3. FOOD PROCESSOR DIRECTIONS: Heat oven to 450 degrees F. Prepare pie crust according to package directions for ONE-CRUST BAKED SHELL using 9 or possibly 10-inch tart pan with removable bottom.
  4. (Chill remaining crust for a later use.)
  5. Place crust in pan; press in bottom and up sides of pan.
  6. Trim edges ifnecessary.
  7. Prick crust with fork.
  8. Bake at 450 degrees F. for 9 to 11 min or possibly till lightly browned; cold completely.
  9. In food processor bowl with metal blade or possibly blender container, combine all filling ingredients; process till smooth.
  10. Spread proportionately in cooled baked shell.
  11. * Top with fruit; brush with jelly.
  12. Chill 1 to 2 hrs before serving.
  13. Store in refrigerator.
  14. TIP:* At this point, tart can be covered with plastic wrap and refrigerated overnight.
  15. Top with fruit and jelly up to 6 hrs before serving.
