Peanut Butter Sauce

  1. In 1-quart saucepan blend brown sugar, corn syrup and shortening.
  2. Cook and stir over low heat until mixture just comes to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Blend in peanut butter until melted.
  5. Gradually blend in milk until mixture is smooth.
  6. Cook and stir over low heat until mixture returns to a boil.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Stir in vanilla.
  9. Serve warm.
