Mom's Brownies
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder (Hershey Unsweetened)
- 5 13 tablespoons vegetable shortening (Crisco)
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar (or Nature Sweet)
- 12 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 12 teaspoon baking powder
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In small bowl, using a fork, combine the cocoa and shortening until it is all the same consistency.
- Put 2 eggs in a medium bowl and beat with electric mixer until they are light & fluffy.
- Pour into beaten eggs, a little at a time, one cup of sugar.
- After each addition of sugar, mix until light and fluffy.
- Put the chocolate mixture and 1/2 tsp of vanilla into the eggs & sugar mixture.
- Beat on low speed until it all looks the same.
- Put in 1 cup of flour, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp baking powder.
- Mix with fork or spoon until its all the same.
- Put in greased pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
