Homemade Sweet N'Sour Pork
- 1 lb Boneless Pork Loin Roast, cubed
- 1 large Egg
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 2 cup Flour
- 2 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
- 1 can Pineapple chunks, juice and pineapple separated
- 1/4 White vinegar
- 1/4 cup Rice wine
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Grenadine
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 large Red Onion, chopped
- 1/2 Red bell pepper, cut into strips.
- 1/2 Green bell pepper, cut into strips
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- In a large mixing bowl whisk together the egg and milk.
- Add the pork, taking care to ensure each piece is well coated in egg mixture.
- After the egg bath, roll the pieces of pork in the flour till all sides are well coated.
- Add the meat to the oil a bit at a time.
- It may take a few batches to cook all the pieces.
- Heat the oil on medium high heat.
- The faster your meat fries, the more tender it will be.
- Line a plate with paper towels and place a colander over the plate.
- Remove cooked pieces of pork and allow them to drain in the colander.
- Once all the meat is cooked, combine the pineapple juice, vinegar, grenadine and soy sauce in a small sauce pot.
- Whisk in the cornstarch to the sauce pot and heat on medium, whisking frequently till the sauce is thickened.
- In a large frying pan heat the coconut oil on high heat.
- Once hot add all the veggies and saute for 3-5 minutes.
- Or till the veggies are seared with a crisp-tender texture.
- Reduce heat to medium and add the fried pork, pineapple chunks and the sweet n' sour sauce.
- With a large spoon, fold all the ingredients together until the veggies and pork are shiny from the sauce.
- Serve hot over steamed rice and enjoy.
