Rustic Apple Pie
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp. garam masala
- 3 tart apples, peeled, thinly sliced Safeway 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 1 ready-to-use refrigerated pie crust (1/2 of 14.1-oz. pkg.)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
- Heat oven to 400F.
- Mix first 4 ingredients in large bowl.
- Add apples; toss to coat.
- Line 9-inch pie plate with crust as directed on package; fill with apple mixture.
- Gently pull edge of crust up over apples, leaving center of filling uncovered.
- Pleat edge, then press firmly into filling to secure; brush with egg.
- Bake 40 min.
- or until crust is golden brown.
- Serve warm with whipped topping.
