Chocolate Filled Oatmeal Bars
- 1 c. margarine
- 2 c. light brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. quick Quaker oatmeal
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (12 oz. size) bag chocolate chips
- 1 (14 oz.) can condensed sweetened milk
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Cream margarine and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
- Combine oatmeal, flour, baking soda and salt.
- Stir into creamed mixture.
- Spread 2/3 of mixture into greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan.
- Combine chocolate chips, condensed milk and margarine in saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat until melted and smooth.
- Add nuts and vanilla.
- Spread over oatmeal mixture in pan.
- Spoon small drops of remaining oatmeal mixture on top.
- Try to spread evenly a little.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool and cut into bars.
