Old Fashioned Mustard Bath
- 1 cup baking soda*
- 1/4 cup mustard powder***
- 1 small flotilla of get-well rubber ducks (optional) ****
- In a small bowl, add the mustard powder and baking soda.
- Mix well and store in a covered container.
- You can add a few drops of some essential oils if desired.
- Draw a hot bath.
- Make it as hot as you can stand.
- Add 4 tablespoons of the mustard bath and let completely dissolve.
- Immerse yourself in the bath for 20 minutes.
- Notes: * The baking soda does not provide any therapeutic benefit from what I can tell.
- It's sole purpose is to balance the ph of the bath water.
- Without it, the mustard would irritate or even blister your skin.
- **While I have broke low grade fevers with this mustard bath, I would never use it for a high temp fever.
- ***I use Coleman's mustard powder.
- **** Get-well rubber ducks provided by my daughter.
