Old Fashioned Mustard Bath

  1. In a small bowl, add the mustard powder and baking soda.
  2. Mix well and store in a covered container.
  3. You can add a few drops of some essential oils if desired.
  4. Draw a hot bath.
  5. Make it as hot as you can stand.
  6. Add 4 tablespoons of the mustard bath and let completely dissolve.
  7. Immerse yourself in the bath for 20 minutes.
  8. Notes: * The baking soda does not provide any therapeutic benefit from what I can tell.
  9. It's sole purpose is to balance the ph of the bath water.
  10. Without it, the mustard would irritate or even blister your skin.
  11. **While I have broke low grade fevers with this mustard bath, I would never use it for a high temp fever.
  12. ***I use Coleman's mustard powder.
