Simple Chikuwa Nanban

  1. Cut the chikuwa in half lengthwise, then quarter horizontally (to make a total of 8 pieces).
  2. Score the inside of the chikuwa as shown.
  3. Put the ingredients in a plastic bag.
  4. Massage the bag from the outside and marinate the chikuwa for 10 minutes.
  5. In a frying pan or toaster oven, cook until golden brown.
  6. Serve with tartar sauce.
