Old Fashioned Cream Pie

  1. Melt butter in double boiler.
  2. Mix in sugar into butter.
  3. Mix 1/4 cup of half and half with cornstarch.
  4. Add remaining half and half to double boiler butter/sugar mix.
  5. Stir in half and half/cornstarch into the butter/sugar/half and half combination.
  6. Heat over med-low heat, stirring constantly until thickens.
  7. Pour into baked pie shell, lightly sprinkle with nutmeg (for garnish).
  8. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
  9. Refrigerate.
  10. FOR MICROWAVE - mix ingredients together in safe bowl, microwave for 10 minutes, stirring at 2 minute intervals until thick.
  11. Pour into prepared shell, sprinkle with nutmeg and bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
