Grilled Garden Burgers
- 1 egg white
- 14 cup fine dry breadcrumb
- 14 cup finely shredded carrot
- 14 cup finely chopped onion
- 14 cup finely chopped green pepper
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 18 teaspoon pepper
- 1 lb ground turkey or 1 lb lean beef
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- nonstick cooking spray
- 1 medium tomatoes, sliced
- In a large bowl combine the egg white, bread crumbs and, if using beef, 2 tablespoons water.
- Stir in the carrot, onion, green pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add the ground meat and parmesan cheese and mix well.
- Shape meat mixture into four 3/4-thick patties.
- Prepare an outdoor grill for barbecue.
- When the coals are ready, grease a cold grill rack with nonstick cooking spray and place the rack on a grill.
- Grill the burgers over medium coals for 7 minutes.
- Turn and grill 8-11 minutes or until no pink remains.
- Place 1 tomato to slice on each burger and grill 1 minute longer.
