Apple Cake With A Subtle Tea Flavor
- 120 grams Cake flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 Egg
- 70 grams Sugar
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 1 Black tea bag
- 1/2 Apple
- Have all the ingredients ready to go.
- Crack the egg into a bowl and add sugar.
- Whisk well.
- Add vegetable oil to the step 2 mixture.
- Whisk some more.
- Add the milk also, and mix again.
- Add the sifted cake flour and baking powder into the bowl.
- Change to a rubber spatula, and fold the flour in.
- Remove the black tea leaves from the tea bag and add them into the batter.
- Mix to combine.
- Cut up 2/3rds of the apple into wedges and slice thinly.
- Add this to the batter.
- Reserve the other 1/3 of the apple to use as topping.
- Pour the batter into a cake pan lined with kitchen parchment paper.
- Scatter the reserved apples on top, and press them into the batter lightly with your fingers.
- Bake in a preheated 170 C oven for about 40 minutes.
- If a bamboo skewer inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean, the cake is done.
