My Own Sloppy Joe Mix

  1. Serve on hamburger buns, lightly toasted if you like.
  2. Saute onion, celery and green pepper in oil in medium size heavy skillet until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic; cook 1 minute.
  4. Combine in ground turkey or beef.
  5. Saute until half done, about 2 minutes. Add chili powder, cumin, oregano, basil, thyme, salt and pepper. Cook just until meat is cooked through, about 3 minutes.
  6. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, tomatoes and 3/4 cup water.
  7. Bring to boil, lower heat and simmer, stirring constantly, about 30 minutes. Spoon about 1/2 cup of filling until each buns is stuffed full. Serve hot.
  8. Drain off excess grease of meat mixture.
