Sweet and Sour Cabbage

  1. Peel and slice carrots and turnip or parsnip.
  2. Peel and dice potato.
  3. Combine ingredients in large soup kettle.
  4. Bring to boil over high heat.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 1 hour, until vegetables are tender and flavors meld.
  6. Remove bay leaves after first 30 minutes.
