Chocolate Caramel Pie Recipe
- 1 lg. pie shell
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 3 lg. Large eggs
- 1 tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. cream
- Lump butter
- Salt
- Vanilla
- Dissolve (heat) 1/2 c. of sugar in 1 c. lowfat milk in saucepan.
- Beat 3 yolks and 1 white, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 level tbsp.
- flour.
- Add in 1/2 c. cream, butter, salt.
- Cook till thickened, add in vanilla.
- Save egg whites.
- Prepare 1 package instant chocolate pudding (less 1/2 c. lowfat milk as per package directions).
- Pour on top of caramel mix in large pie shell.
- Egg whites can be used as meringue - optional.
- Cold.
