Sensational Spinach Pie
- 1 lb. Italian sausage, casing removed, cooked, drained and crumbled
- 1 (15 oz.) container Ricotta cheese
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
- 1 (8 oz.) container cream cheese (herb and garlic type)
- 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
- 1 (15 oz.) pkg. pie crusts (2 crusts)
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Mix together sausage, Ricotta cheese, spinach, cream cheese, Mozzarella cheese, 2 eggs and hot pepper sauce in large bowl until well blended.
- On lightly floured surface, roll out one pie crust to 12-inch circle.
- Place in 10-inch pie plate.
- Fill with the sausage mixture.
- Roll remaining pie crust to 12-inch circle; make decorative cutouts in pastry, if desired.
- Place pastry over filling.
- Seal and flute edges of pie. Decorate top with additional pie crust.
- Cut into decorative shapes, if desired.
- Beat remaining egg; brush top of pastry.
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until pastry is lightly browned.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Makes 10 servings.
