sunhine 's candy apple pie
- 1 packages ready made pie crust (2 - 9"inch)
- 2 can apple pie filling (21 oz )
- 1 bag red hots (6 oz)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg white
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 sheet of foil
- preheat oven at 425 n bake on 425
- in a 9" inch pie dish, place one of the pie crust on bottom , and press with fingers to shap.cover with clear plastic wrap place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- mean while, mix the two cans of apple filling, red hot all but a tablespoon, (you will use that table soon later), and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, mixed together stir well.
- now spoon in apple mixture into pie crust.Now cut a apple shape out of center of dough.thats gose on top of pie
- now put top crust on top.
- now pinch crust around the edges to seal.now brush on egg whites and sprinkle sugar on top.add the 1 tablespoon of red hot into the cut out apple pattern.
- foil outer crust to keep from having a darker edge then center of pie.
- place pie in oven for 40 minutes, then remove foil, place back in oven and bake for another 15 minutes or untill golden brown.
- let pie cool, and set for at least 2 hours in a cool place, then set in refrigerator four 2 hours then serve
