Open Face Sardine Sandwiches with Quick Aioli

  1. To make the aioli, peel garlic and mince until pureed and stir into mayonnaise.
  2. Cut the baguette into 4 pieces and split each piece lengthwise.
  3. Spread each piece lengthwise.
  4. Spread each piece with the aioli, divding evenly.
  5. Trim, wash and dry the watercress and divide between the 8 pieces of bread.
  6. Top each bread piece with sardines.
  7. Makes 4 servings.
