Crusty Cheese Rings
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. whipping cream
- 2 tsp. white vinegar
- 1/2 c. Monterey Jack cheese
- flour
- 1 egg white, slightly beaten
- additional cheese (shredded or grated; for topping)
- Combine flour and butter in mixing bowl.
- Cut butter into flour until mixture is slightly smaller than peas.
- Mix in cream and vinegar with fork.
- Stir in cheese evenly.
- Form dough into ball.
- Roll out on lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into rings using a doughnut cutter.
- Repeat using all dough. Place rings and holes on ungreased baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Chill 30 minutes.
- Brush tops with egg white.
- Sprinkle additional cheese.
- Bake at 450u0b0 for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Serve hot.
