Aunt Pearl'S White Fruit Cake
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 c. flour
- 2 lb. raisins (white)
- 1/2 lb. candied green cherries
- 1/2 lb. candied red cherries
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 3 sticks butter
- 10 eggs
- 1 lb. candied pineapple
- 2 c. pecans
- 2 c. walnuts
- 1 c. wine or apple juice
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- Cream together the butter and sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
- Add flour and liquid alternately.
- Dust the fruit, which has been chopped if necessary, with a little extra flour.
- Fold carefully into batter; fold in nuts.
- Pour into a prepared tube pan.
- Bake in a slow 300u0b0 oven for 4 hours.
- This makes a huge cake that will fill the 10-inch tube pan to the top.
