Chocolate Chewy Critters

• 1 1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
• 1/2 c. butter, softened
• 2 Tbsp. milk
• 1/2 tsp. vanilla
• 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• approximately 120 pecan halves
• 15 vanilla caramels, cut in half lengthwise
• 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels

1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
2. Cream the sugar and butter.
3. Add the milk and vanilla, then stir in the flour and salt.
4. On an ungreased cookie sheet, arrange 4 pecan halves at right angles to one another.
5. Divide the dough into 30 equal parts.
6. Form each piece of dough around a piece of caramel, covering the candy completely.
7. Press each one firmly on a cluster of pecan halves. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until firm.
8. Cool completely on a rack.
