Homestyle Vegetable Soup Recipe
- Stew meat
- Fresh cabbage
- Fresh carrots
- Fresh rutabaga
- Fresh onions
- Fresh celery
- Tomatoes, crushed
- Bay leaf
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sugar
- Barley
- Corn, canned
- Green peas
- Green beans
- Yellow beans
- Kidney beans
- Lima beans
- Great Northern beans
- Blackeyed peas
- In pot place fresh vegetables.
- Bring to boil.
- While cooking fresh vegetables place meat in fry pan and brown through.
- Place meat and meat juices into stew pan with cooking vegetables.
- Add in canned vegetables, bay leaf, barley and season to taste.
- This soup is best if made late in the evening and eaten the next day.
