Pedernales River Chili Con Carne II
- 4 lbs lean beef, chili-grind
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon cumin, ground
- 6 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 (16 ounce) cans tomatoes
- salt
- 2 cups water, hot
- Brown meat with onion and garlic until meat is cooked through.
- Add rest of ingredients.
- Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for an hour with the cover on the skillet or pot.
- Skim off grease.
