Great-Great Aunt Ruth's Rolls / Bread

  1. Put Crisco, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Pour in boiling water and stir until dissolved.
  3. Add cold water.
  4. Pour in yeast and stir in 6 cups flour until well mixed.
  5. (I use my KitchenAid mixer with the bread hook--very easy.)
  6. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled.
  7. Turn out onto floured surface and knead 5 minutes.
  8. Divide for 2 loaves of bread or roll out and cut for rolls.
