Praline Paste

  1. Place the nuts and the vegetable oil in a food processor fitted with a steel blade.
  2. Pulse the mixture until it becomes a paste (about 2 minutes).
  3. In a tightly covered container, praline paste will keep for 2 months in the refrigerator or 4 months in the freezer.
  4. Bring it to room temperature before using.
  5. Substitute any toasted nuts for the hazelnuts.
  6. When other nuts are used, this confection is called a nut butter.
