Homemade Pepperoni Calzones Recipe

  1. Prepare pizza dough.
  2. Punch down dough; divide into 6 equal parts.
  3. Roll each part into 7 inch circle on lightly floured surface.
  4. Take the spaghetti sauce and spread over half of each circle to within 1 inch of edge; top with pepperoni and cheese.
  5. Carefully fold dough over filling; healthy pinch edges to seal securely.
  6. Place sandwiches on greased cookie sheet; let rest 15 min.
  7. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  8. Brush sandwiches with egg.
  9. Bake till golden, about 25 min.
  10. Yield: 6 sandwiches, 355 calories per sandwich.
  11. PIZZA DOUGH DIRECTIONS: Dissolve yeast in hot water in a bowl.
  12. Stir in sugar, oil, salt and 1 c. of flour.
  13. Beat till smooth.
  14. Fold in sufficient remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
  15. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead till smooth and elastic, about 5 min.
  16. Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up.
  17. Cover and let rise in hot place till almost double, about 30 min.
