Chicken Paprika
- 1 chicken, cut up
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup water (or broth)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons shortening or 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup sweet cream
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- salt & pepper, to taste
- Saute onion in butter (or shortening), adding seasoning.
- Brown chicken for 15 minutes.
- Add water (or broth) and cover.
- Simmer for 1 hour - 'til tender.
- Remove chicken to serving platter.
- Mix well sour cream with drippings in pan.
- Adjust seasoning, adding sweet cream and heat.
- Do not boil.
- Serve on dumplings or kluski (egg noodles).
