Baked Oats With Vegetables And Sage Recipe
- 1 Tbsp. light sesame oil
- 1/2 c. diced onion
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 1/2 c. diced butternut squash
- 1 c. steel-cut oats
- 3 Tbsp. sage leaves (rubbed if dry, chopped if fresh)
- 2 Tbsp. thyme
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 2 c. water
- Heat a heavy-bottomed pit over medium heat.
- Add in sesame oil and saute/fry onions till they are clear.
- Add in celery, squash, herbs, and oats and cook about 5 min to seal the edges with oil.
- Add in salt and water.
- Cover and bake in a preheated 350F oven for 30 min or possibly till grain has absorbed all liquid.
