Honey Bun Bars
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. cold water
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. honey
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. milk
- Mix the first 3 ingredients as for pie crust.
- Press into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Drizzle 2 tablespoons honey over and spread.
- Bring water and margarine to a boil.
- Add flour and salt all at once. Stir until a stiff ball forms.
- Remove from heat and add 3 eggs, one at a time, and beat after each until smooth and glossy.
- Stir in 1/2 cup honey and 1 teaspoon almond extract.
- Pour and spread on crust.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped nuts on top.
- Bake 10 more minutes.
- Cool and then drizzle with icing made of sugar, almond extract and milk.
