Barbecue Chuck Roast Recipe
- 4 lb chuck roast
- 1 sm onion
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 2 tsp chili pwdr
- 8 ounce tomato sauce
- 1/4 tsp garlic pwdr
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar cooked noodles optional
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cut fat out of roast.
- Brown in Dutch oven in oil.
- Remove roast from pan and set aside on platter.
- In same Dutch oven, combine and bring to boil: water, tomato sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, minced onion (use more, if you like), salt, chili pwdr, garlic pwdr (use more, if you like) and Worcestershire sauce.
- Return meat to pan.
- Bake in oven 2 1/2 hrs.
- May be served with warm noodles.
