Caramel Chip Bars

  1. In large saucepan, combine butter, caramels and milk.
  2. Cook over medium low heat until smooth, stirring often.
  3. Combine the cake mix, oil and eggs.
  4. Mix well and stir in chips and chopped candy bar.
  5. Press 3/4 into a greased 13x9 in. baking pan.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  7. Place on wire rack for 10 minutes. Pour caramel mixture over the crust.
  8. Drop remaining dough mixture by spoonfuls onto caramel layer.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  10. Cool for 10 minutes.
  11. Run a knife around the edges of the pan.
  12. Cool 40 minutes longer.
  13. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Yields: 2 dozen.
