Susan Marie's Cabbage & Potatoes
- 2 slices bacon
- 1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 onion, small, chopped
- 5 red potatoes, diced
- 1 head green cabbage, coarsely chopped
- 12 cup water, hot
- 8 ounces ham, chunks
- fresh ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon celery salt (approximate)
- 1 teaspoon white pepper (approximate)
- 12 teaspoon cumin (approximate)
- In large skillet, fry bacon until crisp.
- Add butter & melt.
- Add onion and potatoes to skillet; stir & cook until browned over medium to medium high heat.
- Add chopped cabbage, stir fry until starting to wilt.
- Add water.
- Allow to cook over medium to medium high heat until cabbage is wilted and potatoes are tender.
- Add seasonings and ham.
- Stir to heat ham through.
- You may add salt & pepper to your taste after cooking.
- Seasonings are approximate--you may adjust to your taste preference.
