Picnic Bread Recipe
- 1 2/3 c. flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. canned pumpkin
- 2 lg. Large eggs
- 1 c. pitted dates, cut sm.
- 1 c. minced walnuts
- Beat all ingredients except dates and nuts with electric mixer till smooth, about 2 min.
- Stir in dates and nuts.
- Turn into a greased and floured 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hrs.
- Loosen sides and turn out.
- Cold completely.
- To soften crust, wrap tightly and let stand several hrs.
