Quick and Easy off the Shelf Barbecue Sauce

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the chili powder over medium heat, stirring just until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Immediately add 1/4 cup water, then add ketchup, chili sauce, worcestershire sauce, and vinegar.
  3. Simmer, partially covered, over medium-low heat until thickened, about 20 minutes.
  4. Note: The sauce can be made up 1 month ahead and refrigerated.
  5. Return to room temperature to brush on during last 15 minutes of grilling.
