Bread And Butter Cucumber Pickles Recipe
- 4 quart. sliced cucumbers (med. size)
- 6 med. sized onions, sliced
- 3 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 1 green pepper
- 1 red pepper
- 1/3 c. salt
- 5 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- 2 teaspoon mustard seed
- 3 c. distilled white vinegar
- Slice cucumbers thin.
- Add in sliced onions, garlic and the peppers sliced into narrow strips.
- Add in salt.
- Mix well and cover with cracked ice.
- Let stand for 3 hrs.
- Drain; combine remaining ingredients and pour over cucumber mix.
- Heat to boiling and seal in sterilized jars (8 pints).
