Easy! How to De-Sand Manila Clams or Surf Clams
- 300 grams Manila clams
- 250 ml Water
- 1/2 tbsp Salt
- Dissolve the salt in the water to make salt water.
- Line the clams on a metal rack place in a tray (see Helpful Hints) without overlapping.
- Pour the salt water over them until the tops are just sticking out.
- Cover with a newspaper and place in a dark place for 1-2 hours.
- This is for using clams bought at the supermarket.
- Rub the shells together as you rinse with water and then you can use them in your cooking.
