Fruit Cake

  1. Cook raisins and currants in saucepan with water to cover until they swell.
  2. Drain and set aside.
  3. Chop all fruit and set aside.
  4. Mix shortening and sugar in large bowl.
  5. Add eggs and mix thoroughly.
  6. Mix in grape juice and mayonnaise.
  7. Combine flour and spices; mix into the batter.
  8. Add vanilla.
  9. Flour fruit and mix in well.
  10. Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
