Authentic Pork Rice Bowl with Sweet and Savory Sauce
- 200 grams Thinly sliced pork belly
- 1/2 Onion
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 4 bowls Freshly made rice
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Sake
- 3 tbsp Mirin
- 2 tbsp Soft light brown sugar
- 1 tsp Honey
- Cut the pork into 3-4cm bite sized pieces and thinly slice the onion.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan and stir-fry the pork.
- Once it is cooked through, add the onions and cook until tender.
- Remove the pork and onions from the pan.
- Prepare the sauce in the same pan.
- Add the ingredients labeled and simmer over medium heat until the surface slowly bubbles.
- Return the pork and onions to the pan, stir while lightly simmering and you're done.
- Pour on top of steaming rice and enjoy.
