Shepherds Pie
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 can Tomato Soup
- 1 can Green Beans, Drained
- 3 whole Potatoes
- Milk And Butter, To Taste (to Make Mashed Potatoes)
- Grated Cheese For Topping (optional)
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain the grease.
- Add the tomato soup (do not dilute with water).
- Pour this mixture in the bottom of a pie dish or 9x9 baking dish.
- Add the green beans as the next layer.
- (My husband sometimes throws some canned corn in there, too!)
- Chop the potatoes into a small dice and boil until fork tender.
- Drain and mix into mashed potatoes, adding milk and butter according to your preference.
- Add the potatoes as the top layer of the pie.
- Cover with foil and bake at 375 F for 30 to 40 minutes, until heated through.
- If desired, remove the foil during the last few minutes of cooking and sprinkle some grated cheese on top of the pie.
