Heart Shaped Sugar Pie

  1. Refer toto make a pie crust.
  2. Follow the procedures until step 7.
  3. Roll it out until 1cm thick and divide into thirds.
  4. Take one third and roll it out until 3mm in thickness (mine turned out to be about 12cm by 20cm).
  5. Repeat for the other two pieces.
  6. Cover dough with a decent amount of granulated sugar.
  7. If the dough didn't roll out neatly, chop of the four ends.
  8. Fold the edges in towards the center, as seen in the photo.
  9. Fold that in half.
  10. Press down the dough to secure and stick.
  11. Wrap up in plastic wrap and chill in freezer for 30 minutes.
  12. Preheat the oven to 190C.
  13. Slice dough into about 5mm-thick pieces.
  14. Cover one side with granulated sugar.
  15. With the sugared side facing up, align on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes at 190C.
  16. Take out when golden brown.
  17. After they're cooled down, make sure to store in a secured bag to avoid humidity!
  18. There will be lots so you can give some away as gifts.
  19. When making 50 pies use 60g bread flour, 60g cake flour, 100g butter, 50ml cold water, cut in half, then proceed to step 2.
