Wagonwheel Stew Recipe
- 1 1/2 lbs. stew meat, cubed
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 3 tbsp. oil
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1 (16 ounce.) can whole tomatoes, cut up
- 1/4 c. barbecue sauce
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 onions, quartered
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 carrots, cut in 1/2 inch pcs
- 1 c. wagonwheel pasta
- 1 stalk celery in 1/2 inch pcs
- Coat beef cubes in flour, salt and pepper.
- In large pan, brown meat and garlic in oil.
- Stir in water, tomatoes, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire, onions and bay leaf.
- Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 1/2 hrs.
- Remove bay leaf.
- Add in carrots, celery, and pasta.
- Cover and simmer 30-40 min or possibly till vegetables are tender.
- Serves 4-6.
