Wagon Wheel
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1/4 cups Diced Onions
- 1/2 cups BBQ Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1 can (28 Oz. Can) Baked Beans
- 1 can (8 Oz. Can, 10-count) Refrigerated Biscuits
- 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, brown your meat and onions.
- (While you are doing this, its a good time to cut all but one of the biscuits in half.
- Good job for the kids.)
- Add your bbq sauce and brown sugar to the skillet and stir well.
- If you use a really sweet sauce, you may not want to add the sugar.
- At this point, you can add some seasoning to your mixture.
- I like garlic salt and a dash of hot sauce, but this is the place to make it your own.
- Drain the beans a little bit and then stir in the beans and heat through.
- If you are feeding a large family and need to stretch this on a budget, you can easily add more beans.
- Arrange cut biscuits in the shape of a wagon wheel on the top.
- I roll the one uncut biscuit into a ball and flatten it, then place halves around the outside of the pan with the round part on the outside.
- Then I take the remaining biscuits and roll into spokes (or let the kids do this, just like snakes in playdough).
- Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes.
- Be careful when you take it out, its hot and heavy.
